Red-legged Honeycreeper at Manzanillo, Costa Rica (1 Viewer)

In Costa Rica recently I spent a lovely hour photographing a male Red-legged Honeycreeper at Manzanillo south of Puerto Viejo. Now I'm back home again sorting all the piccies out I've noticed that this is apparently completely out of its range. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Hi QBE,

I just had exactly the same experience! I'm in Puerto Viejo - leaving later today. This morning I saw a male and female red-legged honeycreeper on a feeder, and according to my book ("The Birds of Costa Rica", by Richard Garrigues and Robert Dean) they're well out of range. We've been here a few days and this is the first time we've seen them.

Curious!

- Ben
