Digiscoping camera for under £100 - Coolpix S1100? (1 Viewer)

Hi

I am looking at getting a cheap camera for some basic digiscoping.
I have been using my wife's finepix but thought I should probably get one of my own!
Looking at spending less than £100 ideally.
Was looking at Nikon Coolpix S1100pj as it comes with remote control which I thought would be handy.

Is this suitable for digiscoping?
Any other suggestions of good compact cameras to use in this price bracket?

Thanks

Due to the offset and recessed lens it may be difficult to setup and there may be vignetting so you would need to test before buying.
This Nikon is more traditional http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/824715-REF/Nikon_Refurbished_Coolpix_S4100_Digital.html but also should be tested as I have no personal experience with it.
One of the Canon A series cameras could be ok http://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/compacts/canon_a2600 but also should be tested for vignetting before buying. I enjoyed the Canon A640 a few years ago which had an excellent lens.
The ideal lens for digiscoping is 35 - 105 mm , so closest to these numbers is likely to be best. Some of the older cameras had lenses close to this but newer cameras have gone too wide at 24/25 mm which makes vignetting worse.
Neil.

Thankyou very much for your help.
Although slightly more expensive I am also looking at the Coolpix P310 which I have heard good things about.

I just picked up a Nikon Coolpix P310 in Hong Kong for US$200. It was too good a deal to pass up as the list price here on the Nikon site is double this.
I will start a thread on my experiences with it.
First impressions are very good.
Neil.
