Touchscreen or Graphics Tablet for Photoshop for bird images (1 Viewer)

Can't seem to find any previous reference to this, but has anyone tried a touchscreen monitor for using Photoshop (or similar) to tweak bird photo's?

I was looking at getting a graphics tablet, but then thought about a touchscreen as they are only a bit (!) more. Not sure if you can use a Wacom type pen on a touchscreen?

Any feedback appreciated. Especially on good 23 to 27 inch touchscreen monitors

You can use a basic stylus on any touchscreen, they are cheap you can even make your own. They don't offer the pressure sensitivity of Wacom Tablets, plus you have to be careful with the pressure as the small point can damage your screen.

You can have have both worlds, Wacom do make monitors with a hardened pressure sensitive layer that you can draw directly as a with a normal drawing tablet but they are pricey.

I have used a standard Wacom tablet and large screen non touch monitor for years, you can rest your hand on the desk or the tablet and use the stylus in a natural manner. Something you can't do on a touch screen monitor as it can't tell the difference between your hand and the stylus. That may be less of a problem if you use to painting on large canvases.
