First time I see this bird. It was on the ground most of the time until it decided to climb a tree and sing for a bit.

First instinct, Toxostoma. Let's see if we can figure which one! It's probably Toxostoma r. rufum (Brown Thrasher). Yes, I just checked the distinguishers. No doubt - Toxostoma r. rufum. By the way, it is the only Toxostoma recorded as ranging in New England.
