Lesser Whitethroat? (1 Viewer)

This would be a new one for us if we've got the ID right. Sorry about the pic quality (poor light, lots of shadow). At first sight the bird looked almost completely grey on top and white below - but we think it's a Lesser Whitethroat.

Will post a second (equally poor) shot showing a different angle.

I agree its a Lesser Whitethroat, tricky things to photo, I think you did well to get these shots certainly good enough to get a possitive ID

Hi Helen,
Definitely a Lesser Whitethroat,well done!The photos(especially the second one)aren't that bad.
Note the dark legs: Common Whitethroat has pale legs.The head pattern(hint of a dark "mask"),lack of rufous fringes to the tertials or rufous "panel" on the wing,structure etc are also useful ID features.
