Sketches

Out at Sandemar Reserve yester day, some very obliging Whincat knocking around, managed to get a few sketches down.

Nice sketches indeed, especially the throat feathers are quite tough to paint:)
 
Excellent job capturing this fellow! I like seeing sketches while they're still fresh -- hope you do more soon.

Excellent, really excellent! Bold and characterful. Remind me of the work of your compatriot Lars Jonsson. How do they teach art in Swedish schools?!
 
Whitethroat juv's, yesterday

From yesterday, juvenile Whitethroats all over the place, dont often get a chance to sketch these guys...

So are these actually done in the field meaning you actually draw a bird through your scope or whatever? Or do you do a really rough sketch and then these are the refined product of that gist sketch? Either way these are amazing!
