Balcony bird bath? (1 Viewer)

Hello to everyone! This is my first post - I've never seen hummingbirds in my area before. Just for fun I put a feeder up on my third floor balcony and got some hummingbirds! At first a colorful one stopped by, then a not-so-colorful one (female, maybe?), and now I just have two very teensy ones - must be the babies. I am just entranced by them.

Although I know the season is coming to a close here in Illinois, I'd still like to give them a little bird bath if I could. If I just put a shallow saucer of water (like in a glass pie plate) under the feeder will they be able to see it and will they use it? I wish I had a little fountain or something, but maybe next year.

would give it a try,, I have seen the hummys go to my bird baths and shake a little water on themselves,, not a common item though,,

I would like to share something about the bird bath. So far I haven't seen them get near my bird baths but in my flower bed I had but an oscillating sprinkler to water the flowers one afternoon and I looked out the back door and the hummers were hovering around the sprinklers getting wet and just buzzing around the water flowing out. That was so amazing.
