Dalian (Jinshitan) Birding Reports (3 Viewers)

Jinshitan Sea-farming Ponds March 28, 2015

A belated report from Thursday afternoon and two quick ones from today. 67 Japanese Waxwings at the Country Club today all around one small pond getting a drink! Also, there could have been more as I saw 15 flying the other way 10 minutes prior to seeing the 67.

Thanks for the photo's, Tom. I had several times caught a glimpse of buntings and thought, "Is that a Pallas's Bunting I just saw?" One good picture from you and now I am sure, no, it was not. But at least now I will know it when I do spot one!

It's a very still and quiet night here and I just stepped out on my deck for 5 minutes and heard a large group of Dusky or Naumann's Thrush, a minimum of 1 Brambling, and 1 probable Grey-backed Thrush migrating overhead. Also, a distant Little Owl calling from a roof top. Love migration!
