Spotted Harrier - The most beautiful Harrier in the world - Circus assimilis

Chosun :gh:

I declare this week is officially Spotted Harrier week (Circus assimilis), which is officially listed in NSW as 'vulnerable'. :C :flyaway: :gn:
This is undoubtedly THE - most - beautiful - Harrier in the world. It's official. :brains:
I have searched far and wide for a picture to do justice to the vision of this magnificent creature ..... none do it's beauty justice. 'sigh'

To commemorate the sheer divinity of this beautiful raptor, is today's - final part (no promises though!) ..... Spotted Harrier Haiku sextet o:D

Photos just don't do justice to this beauty -

The soft smoky grey ruff, the striated chestnut facial disk, with piercing bright yellow eyes, the wild black and white '60's mod' striping (what sort of sky during the harrier's evolution must have required such a colour scheme for camouflage!),
The beautiful (I don't even know the word to describe the beauty of the rufous reddish colour!) white spotted torso, and finely freckle-fringed supermodel-like long yellow legs,
Glossy silvery slate grey upper wings, with spotted band, and golden diagonal wreath, matte rufous leading edge triangle, long jet black fingered primary feathers, etc, etc.

Aarrggh! the list goes on .... just too beautiful for pics or words !

But here's a few for you anyway .....

Zen-ray reviews

From what i have read with Zen-ray you get great customer service and the optics have good reviews like "Optically Astounding" from one guy.
Their 10x43 ED's look good with all reviewers being well impressed.

free Zen Ray binos

Yes please! Just bought a pair of 9x36, would be very interested to do some comparisons and see how Zen Ray handle Australian conditions and light.
