The Passenger Pigeon Ectopistes migratorius has been sighted in the English Channel. Previously thought to be extint, it was in fact just migrating and has now reached European Waters. Although still severly endangered, this one is sitting on top of a life raft on a passenger ferry, there is new hope for the future of this species.

Anyone able to source a photo of a small, long-billed shorebird sitting on the head of an indigenous Alaskan native person?
