Tropical Storms: refresh my memory (1 Viewer)

Rumor has it that a typhoon is due to hit Taiwan (where I live) this weekend, right as we really start getting into migration season. I've read bits and pieces about fallout, but trying to figure out what it would mean for birding my adopted local patch. The language barrier here makes finding local info a little tough. General pointers?

I'm not very sure about this, but I guess the winds of a typhoon would be pushing the birds north or east - in the wrong direction at this time of year. I would think this might mean they would stop and sit tight if they're in TW. If you're on the west coast, perhaps birds might be blown on to the island?

Sorry just guessing. Sure there are a few others who know more....
