FZ38 Telecon Lens or Digiscope (1 Viewer)

Got a gift of Panasonic FZ38 this week. Have been photographing Finches but would like more zoom. Which is the better Telecon lens or do I just head down the digiscope route? Any tips appreciated.

The digiscoping route will give you much more power but will cost a lot more as you'll need a new camera, adapters, scope and tripod/head combo.
The FZ38 is only 18x optical zoom from memory so you could greatly increase your zoom by getting one of the higher zoom Panasonics, Canon SX30IS( 840 mm with digital zoom to 1700 mm ) or the new Nikon P500 with 36x optical.
