At my Birdfeeder in CT. Same size as an adult Blue jay; head different. Is this a healthy juvenile?? Other? Thanks.

Maybe it has some mites, and molting a bit also. Seems to be an adult bird.

I see this with Cardinals too! Odd, but I think it usually has to do with mites.

Thanks. Actually there are at least 2blue jays with this appearance. Assuming that it is an affliction, any liklihood of it passing the malady to other birds frequenting the feeder??

A normal appearance for the Blue Jays and Cardinals this time of year. This is an adult.
