Perak has 550 species of birds out of 750 species found in Malaysia.
Once a collection of abandoned tin mining ponds. Kinta Nature Park was established in 2001 as a 900 hectares nature park.
In the Last count there were over 180 species of birds with over 2000 resident Herons and Egrets.
