Surfbirds? (1 Viewer)

I feel kind of insecure about calling these birds surfbirds since there has been some disagreement on what they are. Would you let me know what you think?

No question, mrnikon-- Surfbirds, some coming into breeding plumage, with the reddish brown on the wing coverts. Note also the short stocky bill with the yellow on the lower base. Classic Surfbirds.

Oh yeh, and a Black Turnstone in the right foreground.

Oops, I'm still looking-- and a Ruddy Turnstone exiting downstage left.

I saw my first Surfbird run in front of my first Black Turnstone on a pier in San Diego :) They were both stunning, but I was most impressed with the Turnstone.
