Ok - thanks - that more or less fits in with observations in the Algarve. Golden Plover seem a bit late this winter (in numbers anyway) - they are normally here once there are masses of Lapwing and Skylark, which there are now.
 
Labwings I saw loads of, Skylarks I only heard so far and indeed, I have not see Golden Plovers yet....
 
Last saw N. Wheatear here in the Eastern Algarve on the 12th. There was a single Golden Plover here in Tavira on 31st October (which we couldn't make into anything else) but none since. They are very late arriving.

Yeah, it happens. In 2001 I had N Wheatear, Willow Warbler and Pallid Swift all in December (4th) at that same exact spot. Obviously, each required a more careful observation than such species would need under normal circumstances. Perhaps a warmer year, but can't really recall.
