Abnormalty on female Ruby-throated (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone
Female below was captured by a camera trap the afternoon of 8, July
What appears to be a tick is showing at the base of the lower mandible.
Color not what I'm accustomed to seeing. Any ideas or opinions?

Thanks in advance
Bill

what was the answer?

Nymph -Dermacentor variabilis (American Dog Tick)

That feeder, I had reliable camera trap on. Have a few other shots of, I believe that bird, without the anomaly later on.
The white adjacent to rear of the eye, and dark throat spot seeming unique compared to the other few
females photo'd at that feeder.

One male dominated that feeder, for most of the summer.
It too, unique in markings that lends to confidence in ID'ing individuals
