What's CZ makng in Hungary? (1 Viewer)

What's CZ making in the Hungary plant now that a good portion of the Conquest line is "Made in Germany" ???

Is the Conquest HD really "Made in Germany"? or just assembled there? Given the latitude Germany gives businesses labeling their products, and the fact that the new Trinnies are made in Portugal, and that Kahles bins, which say "Made in Austria" on the box, are actually manufactured in Japan makes me wonder if you can believe any labels these days.

The Buick Regal is "Made in Germany,"though I bet it contains "parts from other countries" as other cars do. I read a while back that Germany planned to crack down on the standard for labeling products "Made in Germany," but then the Euro Crisis hit, and I haven't heard anything about it since.

It's a mixed up muddled up, shook up world
Except for Lola, L-L-Lola

Conquest compacts, some of the Conquests which were not replaced by the HD (e.g. 15x45,10x50), PLUS a number of other Zeiss products which have nothing to do with sport optics.

My 8x20 Victory Compacts which I bought this year say 'Made by Carl Zess in Hungary' on them.
