Bob a great first attempt. You didn't mention if this is a digiscoped photo or not. if it is the quality is great. The only things that let this image down a bit is the large amount of space on the birds right. I think this image would benefit from a crop. Well captured and well done.

Well if that's your first attempt, their will be many jealous photographers out there. Well done Bob and keep them coming.

David Cottridge, nearly always places his subjects well off centre; from what I can remember subject to the right of frame. Try it well to the right of centre; it really works!

Congratulations on a good image. I think with bird placement in the frame the guideline is to place the bird on one side looking/flying into space.... though rules are there to be broken! ;)
