I've had Strats including American Standard and a Gibson ES-335. Guess what won my heart?
Telecaster! :king:

I miss those Strats pictured earlier. They were SO nice to have. But, again, I was affected by ego. The renown Fender players use Strats. But then, I always felt the middle pickup got in the way. And, I couldn't bring myself to recess it. SO, the Tele won. The "boat paddle" I made fun of in college. Your 335 was a real winner; I've had a few Sheridans. But, I don't play loud anymore, and that would make a 330 or Casino just right.
I've been taken to task for being an optics snob. But, this clip from my book sums up how I feel about guitars, too.
"Not only will some Asian products go toe-to-toe with Europe’s best, but also at savings that can run into hundreds of dollars a unit. An “American” company sold the binocular on the left for $420. The binocular on the right, from a European “manufacturer,” sold for $650. The differences between the two? Aesthetics and $230. The “American” binocular and the “European” binocular were both made by the same company . . . in Japan!"
