Raining again and been looking about the net at some art, a link here for anyone interested, good for a browse, some great work here, always nice to see a birders artistic impression of what they see, especially when as talented as this...
Was struck by how much bird art is out there that has no grounding in observation, rather plastic portraiture, if my meaning is followed! A lot of American Robins in blossom over gaudy background tones....
Should now go do something useful with my time, on account of the rain, figure Tim's rain dance on the northern isles is really working a treat!
Richard Johnston; Tremendous site, nice sketchbook section along with a black and white gallery, all ivory black gouache work, superb Glaucous Gull illustration among these. In the colour gallery have a look at the Buff B Sandpiper and Wheatear....
