[Here] they say 15 Sep 1829 (Saint-Joseph, La Réunion) - 8 Dec 1904 (Paris, Seine).
(I have tried to find his death certificate in the Paris archives, up to now without success. At the presumed time of his death, he was recorded by the Société Zoologique de France [e.g. here] as living in the 8th arrondissement.)
Death record (transcription) Visionneuse - Archives de Paris p. 12/31 He may have died 1. Dec. 1904 in Neuilly-sur-Marne.
