help, fledging house martin advice, wont feed

hi there, i got home today to find a margarine tub containing what im pretty sure is a fledgling house martin on my doorstep. it is fully feathered but not attempting to fly yet. it seems very tame, im not sure if that is normal for them (this is the first one ive had bought to me). my problem is i cannot get it to feed . ive tried dead flies and egg food so far . i did have a minor success by taking it outside and getting it to peck at 2 or 3 live small insects but i sure it needs alot more! ive never had trouble getting youngsters to feed before. do they need any thing special to get them to feed? can anyone give me advice? i hope this is the right place to put this!
