Chobe NP, Botswana - Cape or Greater Blue-eared Starling? (1 Viewer)

The starlings continue to confuse me.

My inclination was that this is a Cape Starling because of eye color, greenish-blue plumage and lack of apparent purple on the "thighs" but when I compare to photos on hbw.com and elsewhere they all start to look the same.

Would appreciate input/feedback.

Thanks,

Mason

Thanks. See recent posting with comparison

Thanks for the feedback. If you have time, please check out a posting I made today that compares this bird with another that shows odd plumage, possibly in molt. Would appreciate any information you can share.

Cheers,

Mason
