How can I stop Lightroom starting up everytime I plug something in?

Hi Geoff,
Go to Edit / Preferences and uncheck the
" Show import dialog" check box.
Think that might work.

Under File --> Auto import, have you that enabled? If yes, disable it.

Under control panel > systems and security > programs > default programs > change default settings for media and devices
you may find that for one of the options you have 'import photos using lightroom etc' set.
