Here are some of my firsst attempts with the Skywatcher and Nikon D90. Info has been added to the shots - full versions and 100% crops of detail. Most shots taken at Freiston shore or Gibralter point. Light varied from dull to full sunshine.

Last shot was a flight shot, with 1.5 TC on - very difficult but took about 60 shots and quite a few came out good. later in the day, about 7:30pm

Good work, all look good, especially the Owl, just because it's an Owl. :t: Teleconverters seem to be doing ok, I think you have the non pro kenko ones?

Paul.

Watching the owl(s) was fascinating, there were three in one big heath field at Gibralter point. Yes, the TCs are not Pro 300's, I think my 2x TC is more sharp than the 1.5x, I am thinking there may be a focus issue with it as it seems to 'spot confirm' on my point of focus but the atual focus is slightly behind.

Would the Pro 300's be better ?

The Pro 300 1.4X is very good and I wouldn't ever sell mine. Never had the 2X so I can't comment. Your Kenko 1.5X is a 4 element design where as the Pro 300 1.4X is a 5 element design which helps towards sharper images, better colour correction, contrast and all that stuff. Your 2X is a 7 element design and the Pro 300 2X is also 7 elements so you might not see all that much difference between them.

Paul.

Yes I was thinking about the Pro 1.4 or a Sigma 1.4 APO.

Michael, thes pics were taken by mounting the Body by a T2 ring arrangement - no lens on the body or eyepiece on the scope.
