Hi All

Thought you all would like to see 1 of my favorite birds in the hand.

Yes,its a Wryneck.Juvenile Wrynecks start their Post juvenile moult while still in the nest,and this one was well advanced when I trapped and ringed it.Got some great close up digi.shots of its wing to show the moult contrast.

Hi there

Wrynecks are clever little beasts,they are a bit like Little Owls ,can virtually turn there heads 180 degrees,and the same goes for common kingfisher too!!

Will post a couple more pix from my latest ringing session
