Migration Timing, Northern Poland (1 Viewer)

So within the last week, in Northern Poland, I've seen a Firecrest, a Song Thrush, and a Chifchaff. I would have thought that each of these would have headed south by now. Apparently not.

I raised the question in the ID section regarding the firecrest, and apparently they are later migrators. Are the Chifchaff and Song Thrush similarly late to leave?

Yes. Both are fairly short-distance migrants (both winter in Britain, though Chiff only in small numbers), so can stay until severe cold forces them out.

At the other end of the spectrum, here in southern Portugal both Chiffchaffs and Song Thrushes had their first major arrivals around the middle - or just after the middle of October. They are still arriving.
