Eyed or Poplar Hawkmoth Caterpillar? (1 Viewer)

I found this a couple of weeks ago crawling across a road so I picked it up so it wouldn't get squished.

I've tried to ID it and narrowed it down to two, but a couple of things don't seem right to me.

1st Poplar hawkmoth, but all the shots I've found of this has reddish spots higher up the side of the body which this doesn't have???

2nd Eyed Hawkmoth, but the tail-horn on an Eyed Hawkmoth is blue on this it's yellow???

Is there something else I'm missing???
