Got a chance for some pleasant weather birding... strolling through the woods, sitting in (generally) vacant hides... jus' chillin'!

The Carr's fairly quiet at this time of year, but still worth a visit if you're that way inclined.

Probably missed a few but here's the list...

Coot

Long-tailed Tit
Chiffchaff
Bullfinch
Cormorant
Ruddy Duck

Great Spotted Woodpecker
Great Tit
Blue Tit

Common Sandpiper
Moorhen

... and a few pix.

Nice list. I'm jealous every time I see willow tit on a list. There are probably no willow tits in Kent and I haven't seen one anywhere for 8 years.

I like the bullfinch photo - nice composition.

Thanks Robin,

Well, it's the first time I have succesfully ided a Willow Tit myself. A number of BFers have badgered me to pay attention to the calls, and it finally paid off, as a particularly noisy fella was making himself known.

After deciding it was Willow that I was hearing, it was nice for the visual id clues to fill into place when I sw him.

Hi Birdman,

you got a nice list there, still awaiting my first willow tit but hoping i will get it this winter at sandwell valley.
Sounds like a nice relaxed day.

Steven
