Mysterious bird, Calilegua, Jujuy, Argentina

Okay, I promised myself to slow down with making threads ... but this one is a mystery.

Even though the picture is bad (before sunrise, bird lost before I changed lenses), the bird looks quite easy to ID - a large black goose with a promiment white mark on the wing. Nevertheless, there is simply no bird that is supposed to live anywhere nearby that would look like that, by a long shot.

What am I missing?

Looks like a Muscovy Duck. Native to some parts of northern Argentina (don't know where this location is).

Thanks, that is quite interesting. We have a plenty of them here, but they are mostly white and at somebody's yard!

The feral/domestic ones can be mostly white; the bird pictured in your photo is the color pattern typical of a wild bird.
