Birding for fun
Went out for a late afternoon wander to check on local barn owl pair.To my surprise, not only were the 2 barnies at their favoured nest site that they have used for 5 years now, but right next to them, a roosting (nesting?) tawny owl.
Never seen 2 owl species so close together. Anyone else come across this?
Cheers,
Jono
PS Dreadful record shot in poor light from 200 yards away as didn't want to disturb.

Its certainly an unusual picture one I have never witnessed before, the bole holes themselves are Interesting due To their size and the two owls look great it has to be unusual for any naturalist in this country to see such a Sight.

What a nice surprise Jono - never seen that before.

Why don't you go back and have another look for a photo?

Wonder if they would fight over the territory, or not? o:)
