My new 7D just came so I know all you UK twitcher types were getting mighty excited about that Tufted Puffin last month so here's a picture to make you truly drool.

After upgrading from a 400D this camera seems pretty complicated. My manual is in Japanese alas. I downloaded the manual in English from Canon but looking at it on a computer screen isn't the same as browsing an actual book in bed/on the toilet etc.

I'm sure the nice folks at Canon will send me an English one but only in a few days(and not for free as I discovered last time I got a Canon DSLR in Japan).

So here's a pic at 1S0 6400.

Thanks David, I'll pass it on to the local rarities committee.............

I think it's an adult moulting into winter plumage. I'm sure the experts will chip in to confirm that.

A great bird to see in my living room anyway. There was an Ivory Billed Woodpecker drumming against one of my closets last year but the photos are too inconclusive and I won't embarrass myself by posting them on a respected birdwatching forum like this one.

Great shot! :-O
