Before I set my scope up, I thought I was looking at a kestrel but after checking it out for awhile, I am wondering if this might be a female Merlin.

Hi K C,

Certainly looks like Merlin, obviously not adult male but I can't remember separation of ad. fem. from juv/1st winter!

Lovely shot, aren't they tame?

Cheers,

Andy.

Cannot help you on the ID KC but it is a lovely shot. Can you ID my duck for me please.9 people have viewed it but no one has come up with an answer.I suppose we must wait for Michael to come back on line!!.
Your shot is truly great.
Christine.

Satrow, thank you. I went with female only because of the coloring. I might be wrong in that dept. but I am thrilled because it is a record sighting for me. That I got a picture of it makes it all the better :)

Christine, I know about as much about ducks as I do about brain surgery, but I will certainly take a look. Thanks
