Well, that was it. I had planned to visit another spot today and to add maybe 4 or 5 new species, but in India things not always run like we are used to it....
However, it was a great year, I've seen many birds and met many nice people. A bit of statistics:
Out of 1067 species seen...
....53 were Birds of Prey, 10 falcons
....54 were Waders
....45 were Pigeons or Doves
....18 were Owls, 6 Nightjars, 1 an Owlet- nightjar
....24 were Kingfishers
....18 Hornbills
....4 Pittas
....35 Bulbuls
....24 Starlings
....29 Sunbirds
....21 Parrots and Cockatoos
....13 Bee-eaters

Tomorrow the new year and the new list will start with a birding trip to the Nilgiris in southwest India. Also on schedule are northeastern India and Namibia, but the main goal will be to push the life list over 3000.

Special thanks this year go to Panuwat from Wildbird Eco, James Ntakor, Frank Lambert and everybody else out there I've birded with this year.

André
