Straight into full swing at site 2 on Saturday. This is a wild bird cover site, with two or three feeders added last winter. The wild bird cover was almost non-existent last winter - absolutely typical locally following the dreadful summer - and we only ringed 47 birds in total. Our project aims to elucidate the value and reliability of different feeding strategies, making this valuable "lack of data".
Site 3 will not be used at all this winter due to problems with cats.
