The BBC are so good at turning facts into something not quite right. The Farnes do not see only 100 little auks in a normal year. We get good numbers right along this coast after any good northerly blow at this time of year, possibly not in the numbers experienced in the last week, but certainly in the thousands. We would be surprised if they weren't there!
