I will be in NW Arkansas in the next couple of weeks and I am looking for some relatively near to Fayetteville birding hotspots to check out.

Sorry no one got back to you. I live 3 hours from Fayetteville in Searcy, AR. Did you find any good places to go up there? My advice would have been to check eBird hotspots in the area.
 
Devil's Den SP south of Fayetteville
Eagle Watch west of Gentry
Hobbs Conservation Area/State Park NE Fayetteville
Lake Fayetteville trail
