An Unusual Question (1 Viewer)

Hi from Richmond, VA. I have a problem every Spring with house finches "eating" my sedum plants. They bite the tender leaves of this plant. Can anyone tell me what I can put on the leaves to stop them? We feed the birds in our backyard most of the year so we like to watch them. I don't want to hurt them but I would like my plants to make it through the season. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi Grandma Donna and a warm welcome to you from the entire staff here at BirdForum :t:

They are probably looking for lipids in their diet and thus the leaf eating.

I really don't know what to suggest as I don't know of anything that wouldn't be non-toxic to the birds. Maybe someone else might have some suggestions for you.
