A measure for lens comparison (1 Viewer)

I like to use DPReview for a technical comparison of digital cameras and their specs so I thought I would summarise in a simple table their resolution results on a few popular cameras in order of merit. This is not an exhaustive list and if there are others that deserve to be up there feel free to add them. This is also only one measure of camera performance so shouldn't be used in isolation.
If someone can get the Fuji S9000 to digiscope I will have to get one.
Neil.

Canon G7 1775/1800
Nikon P5000 1750/1800
Panasonic FZ30 1750/1800

the higher the number the better the resolution of the lens and CCD,,

can remember back in the film days when a good Leica lens was up in the 2500 to 2800 (if memory is right),, of coures the finer grain films and good lens are still ahead of what the best CCD can do,,

would be interesting to see what a Hasselblad HSD-39 with 39 megapixels could do,, B&H price for such is only $32,000,,

The figures show the ability of the lens/sensor combination to resolve detail on the PIMA/ISO 12233 standard resolution test chart.
Going back into the archives I see figures for the Nikon CP4500 don't look so hot now.
Nikon CP 4500 1200/1100
The Canon looks like it's up there with the Leica of old
Canon EOS-iDsMark 11 2800/2400
