I have just found an app (Ladybird Irecord, if memory serves) that has UK ladybird species with brief notes. Also, you can record sightings through Irecord (once set up) and best of all it's free.;)

This is from the same stable as Irecord for Mammals and Butterflies and both are excellent.

Ah, I've found the butterfly one too thank you. I'll look out for the mammal one.

A good idea for for recording, I wonder whether there will be one for Bumblebee's, Dragonflies, Grasshoppers, Hoverflies?
