eBird seems to be the thing for listing world wide. If you started birding before that, Bubo makes little demands of you. You just give the bird and I was going to put the year in the comments box. Handy to have. However, not quite as handy as eBird in that World and area lists are separately compiled.

I noticed that the 40 birds I put in Finland puts me in top 100 for Finland in eBird. The explanation is that eBird uses English and Latin names, no other languages. Finns mainly list here:

Another site for listing and forums:

I lost my login so was not able to explore it well.

There are advantages to all, eBird gives handy downloads, but I have not used them. I have my life list in excel in three area list. I don't keep a world list other than one I type in Word, where they are in found order.

Add more sites as you find them. There are also a number of Apps where your work is saved in the App and in your phone. If you lose the smart phone, you will need to get a new smart phone and connect to the App to retrieve them.

The eBird top 100 and top 10 lists are done with a disclaimer: don't take it too seriously. With 6 months listing, I nearly made top 10 in one park:

It's hard to find shore birds these days as it is so full of people.
