Egg identification (1 Viewer)

OK, we found this egg. Size is about 1.5 x 2 inches. This is in NE Illinois. It seemed like it floated ashore. I've attached a picture from the internet, but it doesn't have an identification name. If anyone can help we would appreciate it. Thanks.

Could be. The size and coloration are about right. Is there a Ring-billed breeding colony anywhere near?
