Mere Sands Wood, Rufford 1600 hours to about 1700hours. Saw Water rail, goldcrest, Great spotted woodpecker, longtailed, coal, blue and great tits, tree sparrow, bullfinch, reed bunting, jays, cormorants, crows, jackdaws, great crested grebes, shovelers, teal, shelduck, mallard, coot, moorhen.

Was there a week ago and got much the same list apart from the Goldcrest. One of my favourite places to go birding currently.

i saw Nuthatches only in internet not live... :)

You've got some stunning Nuthatches in India. Chestnut-bellied north of the peninsula, Kashmir in the far north, White-tailed along the Nepal border, the gorgeous White-cheeked in Kashmir and the superb Velvet-fronted around the margin and across the base of the peninsula. We, in the UK, have to make do with one.
