I had a day flying bat over the Canal Scrape at Willington GPs Derbyshire. It was feeding low over the water in bright warm sunshine at about 4 pm and was on show for 5 mins.

It was medium sized, all brown bat flying low sometimes dipping the water.

Daubenton's was mooted at the time.

Any one else got any ideas???

Many Thanks

Daubenton's seems a good choice I have seen them flying during the day.

If it was flying that low over the water Daubenton's would be the only likely candidate. Must have been good to see in daylight!

Thanks for the quick replies.

Yes it was really good to see it flying around over the water, was on show for about 5 mins happily feeding away. it may have flushed the waders as well we were also watching!!!!!

It was a lifer for me!!!
