Many people appear concerned to squeeze the ultimate in undiscernable micro-incremental percentage rises in transmission / "brightness" from their birding binos without a thought to their eye health.
If you look at transmission curves of optical glass and of binoculars, you'll find it absorbs ultraviolet light very efficiently. So using the binoculars (or any other optic) isn't dangerous at all.
