Lightroom2, CS4 and Color Space (1 Viewer)

work in progress
Some quick fairly non-technical advice would be appreciated.

I import into LR and convert to .dng from RAW in the process. LR is set up to export 16bit TIFF files to external applications in ProPhoto RGB which is recommended as the best way to preserve colour detail from LR. A problem I have then encountered is that when saving as a .jpg from CS4, the colour gets 'leached out'. To avoid this I need to convert to sRGB on CS4 before saving.

There must be a better way to set up preferences... :C

Any ideas most appreciated.
