Help please....Sorry for the picture quality......two of these were flying around my house late in this afternoon. They were fast and low......However, one did stop for a brief moment in a tree. One shot landing...another resting, last flight sillouette. Hopefully enough to identify. Thanks!

Hi Skiel,

Your bird's a 2CY (2nd Calendar Year) Cooper's Hawk - Accipiter by the long tail, shorter wings, Coop on square head in pic1, thick legs in pic1, round tail in flight in pic2, and head jutting far out from "wrists" in pic2 and pic3.

Our tired Irishman is correct... 2006 hatched Coop.

We can tell the last 2 pics are the same bird because of the gap in the feathers at the right wrist (primary #3?).

Also, notice broken deck feather (central Rect.).

Bird looks like it has a small crop in the last picture.

Nice pics.

Thank you all!

Cooper was our guess but since we've never seen them around here just weren't sure. Thanks again.
