Hi all

Anyone help me with this lovely bee, seen in Tuscany last week?

No colour enhancements done, in fact in life it looked even more stunning than in the photo.

Thanks in advance

Sean

Hi all,

It seems this is a Common Carder Bee, and that southern ones are much brighter in colour than the ones we get in the UK.

Sean

if this is Bombus, and the structure of the hind tibia suggests that it is, looks more like humilis than pascuorum. but 37 species listed for Italy and i dont know how many are in the carder-bee group.
