Flickr (1 Viewer)

Ipernity - same API but the older style (some differences from the original flickr but still similar). Also cheaper for ad-free content I think. See my sig. It has an import function for bulk transfers from flickr.

That are your requirements and in what ways does Flickr not met those? Are you more interested in the image hosting functionality or the community/social media aspect?

The other big site is 500px. However that is much more about sharing the very best of your work rather than uploading large collections, plus the community aspect is weaker than Flickr.
 
I've got a Flickr account but haven't used it for a long time. When I came to use it again I could not remember my password. I've been through the procedure to change my password but still cannot access my account even with the new password, so thought I'd start anew.
 
It's been a somewhat divisive site but there's a photographic community on google+ (plus what used to be Picasa Photo Web.).

Depending on what your aims are, there's also the more blog-style sites like Wordpress, blogspot, tumblr, or blogger.
